ABSTRACT
The paper presents contemporary tendencies which can be seen in Polish monumental public sculpture of last three dec ades. They are connected with Polish history and especially new forms of historical policy, presenting problems avoided by official historiography of Poland before 1989. The monumental public sculpture has some features that can be easily noticed, like exaggeration, excess, and weakness of forms, as well as fo cusing on matters being result of martyrological shape of Polish memory.
